Sydney Australia

Capital of the state of New South Wales, and gateway to Australia.

Dawes Point

Right Under the Sydney Harbour Bridge

Dawes Point is right below the southern pylon of the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Situated near to the stylish Park Hyatt hotel, Dawes Point is conveniently placed close to Circular Quay and The Rocks.

If you're fit enough to climb 270 steps, you can climb up the inside of the south eastern pylon of the Harbour Bridge. Here you can walk out onto a hidden viewing platform and take wonderful photos of the Opera House and Sydney Harbour.

Dawes Point has such a wonderful view of Sydney Harbour and the Sydney Harbour Bridge, that it is a favourite spot for wedding photographers to do their formal group photos. The same goes for the walkway in front of the nearby wharves which have been converted to restaurants and a classy shopping mall.

Dawes Point Park is also used by wedding celebrants, and is filled to capacity every New Years Eve by revellers who wait all day to be in the best vantage-point to enjoy the extravagant fireworks displays.
