Milsons Point
Railway Station at the North End
of Sydney Harbour Bridge
Milsons Point, on the north side of the Sydney Harbour
Bridge, is a great spot where you can appreciate the
architecture and sheer size of Sydney's famous landmark. You'll
get a view of Sydney Harbour from Milsons Point that will stay
with you for a lifetime, so be sure to bring your camera. And
if you're at Milsons Point around dawn or dusk, the lighting
effects anc colors then are well worth the extra trouble.
Milsons Point is the first City Rail train stop north over the
Sydney Harbour
Bridge, and is right next door to the posh subrub of
Kirribilli where the Australian Prime Minister has his official
residence.
There are several pleasant pubs and restaurants next to the
Milsons Point station, on the Kirribilli side. And you're just
a short walk from Luna Park,
the ill-fated amusement park with its giant grinning clown's
face, which is visible from right across the harbour.
And on New Year's Eve every year, Milsons Point becomes one of
the most sought-after spots for viewing the 9pm and midnight
fireworks displays over Sydney's famous harbour.
Milsons Point is home to several excellent restaurants, some of
them with stunning views of Sydney Harbour and the Bridge.
