AustraliaSydney Airport is around
8 Kilometers from the central business district (the CBD). It
is located in the suburb of Mascot, New South Wales, south of
Sydney itself and is often referred to by the locals as
just Mascot Airport. It's official title is
Sydney's Kingsford-Smith Airport - named after the
famious poineer aviator.
Whichever way you choose to call it, Sydney Airport is easily
accessible by car, train, taxi or bus.
The International Terminal of Sydney Airport is called
T1 on the road signs, which are clearly marked with
aircraft symbols. The Domestic terminals are labelled T2 and T3
respectively.)
Sydney Airport's International Terminal has 120 shops, cafes,
bars and service outlets, with an extensive range of
products.
BusesThere are many bus services that operate to and
from Sydney Airport, but most require pre-booking. See
below:
Hotel Transfer to/from the Sydney CBDWhen making your
hotel reservations, check if the hotel has a free pick up or
drop off service.
Metropolitan and Regional Suburb TransferMany shuttle
bus companies provide transport between Sydney Airport and most
suburbs and regional areas. These buses need to be pre-booked.
Check the Sydney Yellow Pages under "Bus and Coach
Services".
Public Route BusSydney Buses has a timetabled service
between Bondi Junction and Burwood which includes the T1
International (and T3 Domestic Terminal) in the route. Marked
bus stops are located on the arrivals level of each of these
Sydney Airport terminals.
TrainsThere are rail stations located at both the
International and Domestic Terminals.
The Domestic rail station is directly between the T2 and T3
Domestic Terminals and can be reached from the Arrivals level
within either terminal.
The International Terminal railway station is at the northern
end of Sydney Airport terminal and can be reached from the
Arrivals level.
Travel to the CityAirport Link has trains which run
(approximately) every 10 minutes and the journey into the city
takes just 13 minutes. The International and Domestic Airport
rail stations link directly to the City Circle - which means
most city destinations are within a short walk of the
stations.
Travel to Sydney's SuburbsTickets can be purchased to
all Sydney stations from the International and Domestic rail
stations. Simply catch the train from the International or
Domestic stations to Central Station, then change for all
Suburban services.
Travel between Airport TerminalsPassengers can also
transfer between Airport terminals (International and Domestic)
for AU$4.00.
